Nicholas serves as Principal Clarinet of the Boston Festival Orchestra and New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, Second Clarinet of the Portland Symphony Orchestra, and Second/Bass Clarinet with the Boston Lyric Opera Orchestra. He also performs regularly with ensembles throughout New England and beyond.

As a soloist, Nicholas has appeared with the Boston Pops, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, and Concord Orchestra, with additional appearances at the Library of Congress, Vivo Performing Arts, and Newport Music Festival. His recording work includes Carlos Simon’s GRAMMY-nominated Requiem for the Enslaved on Decca Classics and Unseen Paths on PARMA Recordings.

Nicholas approaches performance as an outlet for enjoyment, self-discovery, and shared experience. He is especially interested in performances that explore new formats, ideas, and perspectives while creating space for audiences to find their own meaning within this constantly evolving art form.
