Building What Comes Next

Nicholas combines arts leadership, strategy, and systems design to connect people, strengthen organizations, and turn ideas into practice.

In Practice

As Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Boston Festival Orchestra, Nicholas has helped build a community-centered orchestral model that brings together the highest degree of performance, education, and community engagement. Since its founding in 2019, he has guided the organization from an entrepreneurial startup into an established nonprofit with a growing audience, donor community, and network of partnerships across Greater Boston.

His work spans organizational strategy and systems design, audience development, fundraising, artistic planning, partnerships, marketing, operations, governance, and labor relations, informed by his experience as a professional musician. This multifaceted perspective allows him to approach arts leadership from every angle — connecting people, generating ideas, and building the systems necessary to turn those ideas into practice.

Across this work, Nicholas is interested in how arts organizations can move forward with greater intention, relevance, and sustainability. His leadership is grounded in curiosity, listening, and a willingness to question established assumptions, with a focus on creating stronger experiences for artists, audiences, and the communities arts organizations serve.
